RUBY

The ruby is regarded as the most powerful of precious stones. Its blood red color was often chosen by royalty as a symbol of power. Nowadays, it’s also a symbol of love, vivacity and passion. Rubies of big size and without imperfections are even rarer than diamonds. As a matter of fact, it is sometimes called the king of precious stones. Placed under the pillow, the ruby is said to keep the bad dreams away.

MOON

The full moon of October is also called the blood moon. Coming right before Samhain (Halloween), the Celtic belief says that at this time, the veil between our world and the spirit’s world is the thinnest.

CHERRY

Of a deep red color, the cherry is a strong symbol of fertility. When it matures on the tree, its white or light pink flower represents purity, chastity. Once gathered and consumed, it represents innocence and virtue lost. When one bites it, the fruit gives the impression of bleeding.

Rubymoon Design is the personal project of Karine “Ruby” P. LeBlanc and works as a platform supporting several creative sub-projects.
Often inspired in the middle of the night by her dreams and nightmares, Ruby’s literary and artistic creation is a study of the perpetual transitoriness between life and death, beauty and ugliness, ravishment and fear.

RUBYCHERRY

Since November 2011, RubyCherry Shop is established at 161, St-René O. #201 in Gatineau. Primarily an artistic tattoo studio, it is also RubyMoon Design’s head office. Starting off the basis of an original and Canadian concept wishing to encourage a responsible consumption, the shop offers several products printed locally in Quebec. All clothing is produced by American Apparel, the most popular equitable product brand in America. Other internationally recognized partners such as Tattoo Johnny also provide some divisions of the shop.
